Dear Pitcher,

Hereby my design.

It's a bridge made of the colors of both flags. The one side weaving into the other side. The one colour goes to the other side the other colour goes back to the one.
It symbolises the interaction between the two regions.

I'd like to hear you're thoughts on this.

We like the idea about bridging the space between EU and Malaysia. It is creative, original and we can see you read our briefing well!

Even so, we did not recognise the logo as a bridge before we read about it. We think there is something to adjust/improve there.

Of course we are not suggesting to use a picture of a real bridge, so we hope your creative mind can come up with a good suggestion. What are your suggestions?

Furthermore, we think that if you leave out our name, the logo might not be distinctive enough. Also, a perhaps small thing: the ‘bend’ in the shape, by making the colours lighter in the middle, results in a less strong look and feel with the colours/logo. And we would like to be percieved as strong! But also friendly ;)

We hope you will find this feedback challenging enough to keep on developing it and improving on it. Lookig forward seeing your next design!

Thanks for the beautifull words.
And thanks for well thought out feedback. That's something us designers would like to see at every pitch.
In reaction to your feedback, I've designed a version that looks more like bridge, and still has the weave of the colors. This way it also is more powerfull as a stand-alone logo (without the words)
At http://ziner.nl/eumcci you can find versions in duotone and with or without the texts.

I hope this is more to your liking.

Thank you for ammending your logo. Also, for showing us in black.

f/c logo: it looks like a bridge now, better. However, there still is something not right there. It is hard to explain, but I will give it a try: the bars you use with the colours make it look, in a way, like Christo wrapped the bridge: The way it looks is nice, but too random, the way it is wrapped is without a purpose, except for the colours you use.

Also with the b/w version, te white stripes look like white stripes on the bridge... ~;) Sorry, this sound a bit blunt.

I hope this will help a bit, hard to explain. If it is not clear, please let me know and I will try to explain better, after reading your questions.
