The European Design Centre (EDC) is a creative research lab operating at the intersection of ICT, creativity and design. We lead research initiatives, develop profitable projects and create spin-off businesses. EDC assembles and manages extended networks across a range of research interests. Over the past two decades we have led over 40 projects with a combined value of more than €65 million, we have collaborated with over 80 partners in 29 European countries.

Managing research projects implies an intimate understanding of user needs, technology and economics. That is best achieved across a multi-disciplinary network. Conflicting desires have to be accommodated; diverse skills harnessed.

We lead multi-disciplinary projects and resources across borders. We need to be able to talk and willing to the participants It requires a mastery of languages, but bridging the gap between disciplines presents the biggest communication challenge.

EDC applies design-led thinking to clarify user perspectives and accelerate ICT innovation. We work with public sector funding bodies to stimulate investment and develop new areas of research and business. We've been transforming promising ideas into commercial ventures for over twenty years.
